About the project

Dear Friends,

Batsheva Sadan posted a story on social media about a conversation she had with her son, a soldier fighting in Gaza who was about to return home after 100 days of reserve duty. She asked him what would be the first thing he would do when he returned home.

He replied, "I am going to buy a picture of our Holy Temple, the Bet Hamikdash, and put it on the wall in my room!”

He went on to say that in every room, in every building in Gaza, whether it was a school or a home - even in every child’s room, there was a picture of the al-Aqsa mosque. Even the barbaric attack of Hamas was called by them ‘ the al-Aqsa flood’. He wanted to have a picture of the Temple to remind himself of what this war is really about.

We were moved by this. If Gazans in the name of a barbaric and perverse understanding of G-d could be driven by the Temple Mount, then we should channel the energy in a positive way for our holiest site. We should be yearning with a fervor for Jerusalem, for our Temple, for our understanding of G-dliness and goodness.

We have been reminded by those who wish to destroy us , what should be most important to us as a people - the centrality of Yerushalayim and the yearning for Hashem's presence.

With this inspiration, we started a new project - בית בכל בית - The Bayit in every Bayit - and are selling beautiful plaques with a picture of the Bet Hamikdash. The plaques measure 6"x8" and come with a lucite stand.

This project is in the memory of our son Daniel Shimon ben Sharon z’l, his fallen crew members Itai ben Chagit z’l and Tomer ben Keren z’l, as well as all the fallen soldiers. It is also in the merit of the return of Daniel’s body for burial among all the deceased hostages and for the safe and speedy return of Daniel’s crew member Matan Shachar ben Anat and all the living hostages.

We hope that this initiative contributes to bringing about a deeper yearning for the Bet Hamikdash, the Holy Temple, and may we merit its speedy rebuilding soon in our days!

יהי רצון שיבנה בית המקדש בקרוב בימינו
May the forces of love and light triumph over the forces of hate and darkness.
